Elgin is a Navajo artist from Gallup, New Mexico. He comes from a long line of artists, and learned the art of silversmithing from his father. Elgin has been carrying on the tradition for many years. Not only does he make his own stamps, he incorporates them into his beautiful handmade designs. His original Maze design was inspired by the Northern Native American art of painting on totem poles. The intricate coils in the Maze pattern represent the symbols of family or clan. Elgin is one of the most talented contemporary artists of the Southwest.
